Krabi Town Disaster Relief Following the Tsunami
Krabi is the name of a province and town in Southern Thailand, this is where I first went to help at after the tsunami in January of 2004. . Prasit was my host. I stayed a few days in a guest house and visited the makeshift morgue to seee what I could do to help there. Then I spent a day on Phi Phi island working with the island's doctor. Then Prasit arranged for me to live with Pi Yong and Pi Lek. Pi Yong in a neighboring village where Pi Yong was the school principal. He spoke English but not fluently. He was a very gracious host. I taught English at the Laem Kruat School, He allowed me to also teach Bible lessons. These are pictures of my first visit.
In our exploratory trip in July and Auguat of 2005 we revisted the friends I had made in Krabi. I was so excited to hear from Pi Yong that he had read the New Testaments I had given him, one in Thai and one in English from the Gideons. Pi Lek welcomed Cindy with a generous gift of a pearl necklace and pearl earrings. Pi Yong had another tailor made batik shirt made for me. Please pray for these dear friends that they will come to know Jesus. We taught English and shared the gospel in several schools.
