In chapter ten Moses speaks more on of the failures of the people of Israel during the early time in the wilderness.

He reminded them of the failure at the time when God had given to him the law on the two tablets of stone.


When Moses came down from the mountain the people had made a golden calf and were worshipping it and how the tablets of stone were broken.


Moses was commanded by the Lord to take two more tablets of stone,  and for another forty days and forty nights he spent fasting without water or bread  on the mountain with God.
