God's Word for Today
Acts 12

It is good to know that, no matter how difficult the trials or how disappointing the news, God is still on the throne and has everything under control. We may not always understand His ways, but we know His will is best. Peter would later write in I Peter 3:12, the words that King David wrote back in Psalm 34  “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.  But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

II God Hears Our Prayers verses 5-12

Sometimes Christians pray and pray about something and nothing happens.  We wonder does God hear our prayers?   Sometimes He doesn’t answer when we expect Him to, or in the way we expect Him to.  Sometimes His answer to us is no, sometimes it is wait.  Sometimes He answers in way far above what we could even imagine.  Ephesians 3:20

Now to Him, who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

Peter is in prison and the church is praying.  When you pray do expect God to answer?  The church was probably praying that Peter would be safe from harm in the prison, that he would be as comfortable as possible, and that his life would be spared.  Perhaps that prayed specifically that he would be released from the prison.  For more see www.wdbydana.com/sermon.html
