The writer of Hebrews talks about the faith of Abraham and the old covenant or promises that came through Moses now God has a brought a new covenant with the Lord Jesus.

Stephen answered the charges against him by telling the history of Israel starting with Abraham, then Joseph, and finally Moses.  He shows the Jewish people who said that they were following Moses were really rejecting him.   This is a direct answer to the charges brought against him in Acts 6:13

ให้พยานเท็จมากล่าวว่า   “คนนี้พูดหมิ่นประมาทสถานบริสุทธิ์นี้และธรรมบัญญัติไม่หยุดเลย

They also charged him with speaking against God, so Stephen tells how the God he firmly believes in worked through Abraham.

Abraham was considered the father of the Jewish people.  Stephen here tells some of Abraham’s story, you can read the details of his life in the book of Genesis.  God promised the land to Abraham’s descendants, and then told Abraham that his descendants would suffer in Egypt before they would enter and enjoy the land; and this took place just as God promised. From the very beginning, God had a wise plan for His people; and that plan would be fulfilled as long as they trusted His Word and obeyed His will.  For more see www.wdbydana.com/sermon.html
