Teaching English
We have changed to a new location in the Saturday morning Kid's Club, we are now
meeting at the Khok Kloy elementary school and have 45-60 students. I have
been asked to teach English one hour a week at our local elementary school in
Thachatchai. Cindy continues to teach four days a week in Thai Muang
nearly an hour drive north of us. We still don't have her truck back yet
from the body shop. Please pray for these many students we have that they
will do well in their English comprehnsion, retention, and be able to speak
English clearly. Also pray that we will have many opportunities to share
the Gospel with them. We teach the Bible 30 minutes in each of the Kid's
Clubs and we will be teaching about the birth of Christ this month.
International Commission
Pray for Operation Andrew happening now in the eight churches and pray that Magnolia Avenue Baptist church
and other churches across the USA will recruit a large number of
participants for this outreach to Thailand March 21 - April 2. We have
made hotel reservations for 30 counting Jeff and Jodie and Cindy and me, so we
need 26 volunteers. The hotel is the
Khao Lak Orchid Beach Resort. The ideal team consists of a preacher and 2-3 lay people, we can assign to each of the eight churches. In previous projects, men, women and young people from all walks of
life, ages 13-85, have been used effectively. The two basic areas of
project work are visitation and evangelistic services. Every participant spends
two or three hours each morning and each afternoon in scheduled visitations.
They witness in homes, schools, and wherever the host
church desires. Many other evangelistic opportunities come outside the
scheduled visitation. In addition to providing interpreters to bridge any language barriers, International Commission asks each person to write their
personal testimony. This is translated and copies are printed in the host
language. Each volunteer will have 200 copies in Thai and 50 in Burmese. Each witnessing brochure provides that participant's personal testimony, the plan of salvation, steps for a new believer, and a decision card that is in the language of those to whom we take the gospel. Each church holds some other evangelistic services. Interpreters make it possible for team members to testify and for the visiting evangelist to preach. The local pastor participates in the invitation and counseling in order to bond the respondents
to the local church. If you are
interested in participating complete this
application form. A
brochure with more information
is now available.
Change in missionary
support status
In February 2008 I was asked by the late Pastor James Garwood to change their
Bible study outreach here, make it a church and be the church's pastor.
Cindy and I requested permission from YWAM Thailand to be loaned out to Calvary
Chapel for that purpose. Our work here is long term, as is my calling to
be a pastor/teacher. We don't really fit the YWAM mold and we have
resigned from YWAM effective December 31. We will continue to host YWAM
outreach teams. All future donation checks for our missionary
support should be made payable to U Turn for Christ Mailing address:

The Tsunami Memorial Wall gets a paint job
I received notice just before it happened, that the U.S.S. Pinkney was assisting
the Navy League here in repainting the Tsunami Memorial Wall near us. I rushed
over there and cut the remaining weeds for an hour before they arrived and then
worked with them in the painting and arranged our lunch together at Sarasin Sea
Food Restaurant in our village. It so wonderful to have that wall repainted
before the Tsunami Memorial service on December 26. I look forward each year to
preaching the Gospel at that memorial. Cindy and I had our Thanksgiving
dinner with several members of the Navy League and have joined as members with
them. They serve as welcoming hosts to our US Navy and Marines and coordinate
many community service projects with them. The USS Pickney and local area
volunteers cleaned the wall with wire brushes, and painted white the entire
length of the wall. 31 of the 45 country flags were purchased with the remaining
14 ordered. The 45 country flag holders also need to be replaced so they were
removed for repair / replacement. The 45 country flag poles and holders will be
repaired or replaced and installed onto the memorial wall as soon as possible to
complete this project before the 26t of December Tsunami memorial ceremony. I
was preented with a frame picture of the U.S.S. Pinkney for my part in volunteer
work in our community. Food and other supplies were also donated to the
Rotary Club for distribution to flood viictims in Bangkok. Here are some
photos of the “Wall of Remembrance” prior to the start.

Other news
I flew to Bangkok to participate in the quarterly YWAM Thailand leadership
meeting in Bangkok November 14-15, representing the YWAM work in Southern
Thailand. We a good time of fellowship, worship, and prayer. YWAM is
parterning with Global Media Outreach to reach more people online!
I was glad to see that the new airport and the area where the YWAM
Thailand and Project Life Offices are, were not fllooded. We read
encouraging reports that the flood waters are beginning to recede but even when
they do, it will still be a massive clean up and reconstruction project.
This has been the worst flooding in 50 years.
Monday we will fly to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia for an
every-90-days visa run and have a day
off enjoying the Bird Park there.
We are in Joshua
on Wednesday nights, and now in John on Sunday mornings. On the radio we
are in Acts for God's Word
for Today and easy English stories from the Bangkok Post
for Learning English
Together. Bible
study notes and PowerPoints can
be viewed and downloaded from

I am behind on weed cutting and hoping for a team to come help. My riding
mower has been in the shop for cutting blade repairs for several weeks.
I replaced one part and now have two new blades and a new belt coming.

We want to have our event Christtmas evening.
Praise the Lord for translation help. Wanta, the wife of the President of
the Phuket Gideon Camp has offered to check and correct the translation of my
church and radio messages. Also Noy, a neighbor lady who grew up going to
a Catholic school has offered to translate for me when Ohn or Sana can't and Noy
did translate last Sunday morning.
Pray for Golf a 13 year old boy in our church. He was seriously injured in
a motorcycle accident and is in critical condition in ICU.
Pray the flood waters will recede in Bangkok, and that people will be able to
repair and rebuild as they return to their homes and businesses.
Please continue to pray the Bangkok Phuket Hospital will allow me to make regular
room to room visits weekly. We hope to carole there on Christmas day.
Pray for me and my two translators Ohn and Sana, and for those who hear as I

ROAR and Lifeway are offering a
free app for churches and non profits this month but then the serving of it
costs $30 a month thereafter. I have a lot of material in English and in

prayer and financial giving. God bless you, Dana and Cindy
