93.  “Khaodee” Childrens Home – Chiang Rai

Khaodee (meaning Good News) orphanage was founded by a native pastor by the name of Simoon Chaiwangyen. The orphanage and church are located in the middle of mountain valleys approximately 30 miles north of Chiang Rai. Currently, there are 100 children who live at Khaodee orphanage. Seven children were orphaned when their parents died of AIDS, and the other 93 children were abandoned by their parents – when then brought them to the orphanage in hopes that they would have a chance for a better life. Most of the children come from nearby hill tribes (Akha, Karen, Hmong etc...) and most of them are not considered Thai citizens. These children are vulnerable to many kinds of exploitation including sexual prostitution and other forms of human slavery. Your team will have the privilege and the honor of showing God’s love to each and every one of these 100 children!
