78. University of the Nations – Battambang (Cambodia)
University of the Nations Battambang is a new and pioneering
work right in the heart of SE Asia. Their vision is to reach the people
of Cambodia as well as the people of the surrounding closed nations. To
reach them with the gospel, train and equip them in the ways of God, and
send them back out into their home nations to make more disciples, just
as Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:19. Currently there is a youth center
running directly out of the base, where underprivileged and uneducated
youth come in, receive training in various fun and practical skills
(i.e.: hip hop dance, art, ballet, Bible, English, drama, sports, etc)
for free, and most importantly, meet with Jesus. Also a hospital
ministry is ongoing, where AIDS patients are loved on, cared for, and
encouraged in the ways of Jesus. There is also the opportunity to work
with 2 orphanages very regularly, teaching and training the young ones
in the ways of Jesus by sharing His love and life with them. You will
also have ways to minister to the monks and share the saving knowledge
of Jesus with these brothers. Early 2007 the first international DTS in
Cambodia ever will run there so you can even help prepare for that.
God's vision and direction in this place is immeasurable and the sky is
the limit, for sure. |
