50. Border Orphanage - Kengtung (Myanmar)

The Kengtung orphanage is a place that seeks to give disadvantaged children opportunities for a better life. The vision and hope is that each child can grow up having realized their potential and become a productive and successful member of society. The kids that are at the orphanage range in age from between 3-16 years old. There is also a day care that takes in young children who range in age between 1-4 years old. However, not all the kids come from the same area – some come from the Myanmar border areas and some come from the area in and around Kengtung. Many of these kids are here because their family can not give them a proper education, their parents may have died or they may have come from an unhealthy family situation. The orphanage seeks to provide these kids a safe place with an opportunity to receive the Word of God in their life! Your team will have many opportunities for ministry such as visiting the surrounding communities, teaching English, sharing your personal story of God’s goodness and faithfulness – and of course, sharing the Good News with those who have yet to hear!
