Located 160 kilometers from Chiang Mai, the largest city in the North, lies the town of Thoen. Your team will have the opportunity to work with Thawai and Keo, a Thai- Laotian couple, that love the Lord and the ministry He has given them! The opportunities for ministry are abundant...your team can prayer walk in and around the town of Thoen, as well as pass out tracts and engage in open air evangelism. You can also go to several local area schools teaching English and even host an English Camp for students of all ages! There is also an opportunity to go to the local jail and show the love of God to those individuals who may feel hopeless. Thawai and Keo also have contacts at a local area hospital where you can pray for patients who will be encouraged by your team taking the time to come by and visit! Not far from the hospital is an orphanage where your team is welcome to visit...in fact, some of the kids at the orphanage have had both parents die of the HIV virus. Your team can also go to a home that takes care of individuals inflicted with the HIV virus, at this time there are approximately 20 residents. On Sundays your team will be asked to lead worship, share a testimony, perform a drama and even share a message that will encourage the congregation at Asia Mission Church!
