34. The Well – Bangkok (available August 2008)

“The Well” offers women in the bars of Bangkok a new life! There are several ways that your team can get involved in such as bar and street outreach (when going to the bars you will need to buy water / coke to be able to sit down and talk with the girls – estimated cost is 100-150 baht per night, per group) which can provide a great opportunity for you to share Jesus with Thai people, without necessarily having to speak Thai. Your team can also go on an up-country outreach spending time loving the families and villages of working or former bargirls through English teaching, service projects and just enjoying folks. Your team can also participate in teaching English and/or job skills. You can also help lead a camp for rural and urban poor junior high and high school students. Other opportunities include outreach with teens and others in a large slum where “The Well” has a church plant in progress. This would involve after-school work, weekends, or getting into public schools to teach English. Your team can also be involved in essential and effective prayer walks throughout the bar areas, praying for Gods healing love to touch each and every one of these women! NOTE – The WELL prefers teams that consist of 2-6 girls (maximum).

Vision - To plant a church in Bangkok and other locations and to work alongside with other local churches both in and outside Bangkok ( especially NE Thailand). To focus more on evangelism in the bars and to start a center in the bar areas where all the women can come in for rest.
